Clean Up Time – ICD-10-PCS Code Set Deletions for FY 2020

Tuesday, July 30, 2019 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET

CMS is using the 2020 ICD-10-PCS Code Set to address “inconsistent, illogical, and impossible to apply” codes. The update for FY 2020 will address two major families of codes where the data has been of poor quality due to codes that were impossible to assign. The proposed changes for FY 2020 include removal of the bifurcation of arteries from all except cardiac (affecting over 1800 codes), and removal of the external approach option for breast surgeries (they really are inside!).

Join dynamic and popular educator Lynn Kuehn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, FAHIMA to learn how to get ready for, and how your data will be impacted by, the code set deletions effective October 1, 2019:

  • Analyze your data for current coding patterns
  • Project the impact of the new coding structure
  • Identify educational opportunities for coders and providers
