In this webinar, Martin Pritikin will discuss the difference between the processes of developing online and traditional courses, including:

  • the focus on course outcomes
  • how to take advantage of the available technology
  • dispelling some of the misconceptions about online courses
  • techniques to make online courses interactive and dynamic
  • best practices as well as pitfalls to avoid

Martin Pritikin is the Dean of Concord Law School at Purdue University Global, the nation's first fully online law school, with a mission of making high-quality education affordable and accessible for aspiring attorneys and others seeking to learn the law.

Since joining Concord in 2016, Dean Pritikin has overseen the revision of the entire required curriculum, integrating the latest in adult and distance education learning with cutting-edge legal pedagogy; launched a distinguished speaker webinar series that brings renowned scholars and practitioners to a national audience; and entered into a collaboration with a legal aid society to develop the nation’s first online law school incubator program to help graduates develop their own practices.

Dean Pritikin is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School. He began his professional career at Quinn Emanuel in Los Angeles. He entered academia full-time in 2004 at Whittier Law School, first as a professor and then as associate dean, and won their Teacher of the Year award twice, before joining Concord as dean in 2016. He has maintained his connection to practice even while in academia, including as a summer volunteer at a prosecutor's office and as a consultant on a multi-year litigation against Lehman Brothers in bankruptcy court.

Pritikin’s scholarship has addressed both substantive legal issues and the need for reform in legal education. His work has appeared in the Harvard Law Review, the Yale Law and Policy Review, and the Journal of Legal Education, among others.
